How do we detect your graphics card online?
We use a technology built into all modern browsers called WebGL (Web Graphics Library). WebGL allows your web browser to communicate directly with your graphics card to render games and 3D graphics.
When you ask the browser for a graphical "context", it returns a technical text string containing the exact model of your GPU (for example: "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060" or "AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT"). All of this happens locally and 100% secure.
Integrated vs Dedicated Graphics
• Integrated Graphics (Ex: Intel UHD, AMD Vega): They are integrated into the main processor (CPU). They are ideal for office work, watching videos and daily use because they consume very little battery, but they are not suitable for heavy games.
• Dedicated Card (Ex: NVIDIA RTX, AMD Radeon RX): It is a huge and powerful separate component designed exclusively for processing heavy graphics. If you are a Gamer or video editor, you need one of these.
Note: If you have a laptop with two graphics cards, the web browser usually uses the integrated one by default to save battery life.
